Nagelsmann in response to rumors of coaching Real: The worst thing you may read

Julian Nagelsmann, coach of German club Leipzig, has expressed his pride in media speculation about the possibility of him taking over as coach of the Spanish giant, Real Madrid.

“This is definitely the worst thing you read,” Nagelsmann told Sky on Saturday, “but I also know that what the newspapers do is not always true.”

Spanish media reported that Nagelsmann, 33, may succeed the Frenchman Zinedine Zidane in training the royal club after the campaign of criticism that affected the latter due to the decline in the team’s results.

Nagelsmann starred with Hoffenheim before leading Leipzig to the last round of the Champions League in his first season with the team, while he is currently second in the Bundesliga standings table and reached the round of sixteen of the continental championship. Nagelsmann’s contract with Leipzig runs until the end of the 2023 season.
