Croatian Diane Lovren, defender of the current Zenit Petersburg club and former Liverpool club, confirmed that he had “no regrets” about leaving the “Reds” castle, stressing that they “missed him more than he lost them.”
Liverpool is experiencing a major crisis these days, in the line of defense, after the injury of its steel core, Dutch Virgil Van Dyck, and fellow Cameroonian Joel Matip.
The “Reds” have lost twice in the last 5 matches, compared to three draws, and have not scored any goal in the last 4 games in the league.
Liverpool ranks fourth in the Premier League with 34 points, six points behind leaders Manchester United.
Lovren said, in statements carried by the British Daily Mail newspaper, “I did not regret my departure. My decision in the summer was firm to leave the Reds, and I do not look back.”
“I was disappointed last season when I did not play, now everything is different,” added the defender of Zenit Petersburg.
He continued: “I think that Liverpool misses me more than I miss them, and Jürgen Klopp knows that because we communicate together.”
Diane Lovren, a close friend of the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, left Liverpool last August, after a 6-year career with the team, in which he crowned the English Premier League champion, the European Champions League and the European Super Cup.
