Beijing – “Jerusalem” dot com – (Xinhua) – Ford Motor Company (China) will recall 5,234 “Edge” cars from the Chinese market, according to a statement on the website of the National Market Regulatory Authority, the highest quality control body in China.

The recall, scheduled to begin on February 22, 2021, will include imported Edge sport utility vehicles (SUVs) that were manufactured between November 1 and December 23, 2014.

The automaker said the support arch for the front-wheel-drive SUV half-axle could break and fail during long-term use.

According to the statement, an arc failure may lead to a loss of motive power while driving, and the car can also lose the ability to park, leading to unintended movement.

The company pledged to replace the shaft bracket free of charge for the recalled cars.
