The former AC Milan player wishes to be with Ibrahimovic again
Pato wore the Milan jersey before from 2007 to 2013, but he is still looking for a new club since last August after his contract was terminated by Sao Paulo.
The Brazilian striker said in statements to La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I heard that in Italy there might be clubs interested in contracting with me. I want to be clear about this. I am 31 years old. I am not looking for a contract with a large salary but a project that I like. If I wanted money I would continue in China.” .
“Can I feel nostalgic for Milan? We are talking here about 150 matches, 63 goals, a league title and a Super Italian,” Pato added. “It is a dream for me to return to Milan and this is what is in my heart.”
“What is the problem? I will accept that, but I will not move to be just a substitute player. I will be looking forward to playing two games and convincing the coach to continue in the starting lineup. I can form a special duo with Zlatan.”
Milan is looking for a striker to support the team during the winter transfer market, according to press reports, with Ibrahimovic’s previous injury and the risk of losing him again at the time of the Italian League.
Pato concluded his remarks by saying: “I think my body is fine and my mind is different from the last time I was in Italy. I can perform well in the Italian league.”
Milan top the Italian league table with 40 points after 17 rounds, three points behind Inter Milan.
