Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho said that the dismissal of Frank Lampard from Chelsea’s coaching is the cruelty of modern football and would have happened sooner or later, explaining that the legend of Blue would only want to talk to those close to him.

After the Wycombe Cup match, Mourinho said: “I don’t think Frank wants to talk to me or anyone far from his close circle of family and friends.”

“But I always grieve when a colleague loses his job, and Frank was not only a colleague, he is an important person in my career and I feel sad that this happened to him.”

And he added, “But it is the cruelty of modern football, but when you become a coach you know sooner or later that this will happen.”

Chelsea announced Lampard’s dismissal from his post on Monday due to poor results during the current season, as the team has won 4 times in the last 10 confrontations, tied once and lost 5.

Lampard took over as Chelsea manager in July 2019, and has led the team in 84 games in all competitions, winning 44 of them, losing 25 and drawing 15.

Lampard ranked fourth in the Premier League during his first season, and lost the FA Cup final to Arsenal and deposited the League Cup from the fourth round, as well as bid farewell to the Champions League in the round of 16 and lost the European Super Cup final to Liverpool.
