The Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al Sheikh, approved the implementation of the developed study plan (as a first stage) for the primary and intermediate stages in public education and the Holy Quran memorization schools, for distance education during the second semester of the year 1442.

The new study plan included the first application of the developed Islamic studies courses with an adjustment in their relative weight, increasing the relative weight in mathematics and science subjects, reducing the relative weight of Arabic language, technical education and physical education for boys and family education for girls in different proportions, eliminating activity classes, and focusing on developing skills from During the increase in writing and other applications.

The study plan also included reducing the number of weekly hours that the student studies in the study plan in general education remotely from (30 classes to 25 in elementary grades), and from (33 lessons to 28 in the upper grades), and from (35 classes to 29 in the middle stage). ), And a comparative reduction in the primary and intermediate stages of the Holy Quran memorization schools, and the directions referred to in each plan included the activation of the role of the Madrasati platform, by urging an increase in self-education in the Holy Quran to enhance the educational processes.

The decision of the Minister of Education comes based on the decision of the main committee for study plans and curricula in the ministry, which included discussing the developed study plans for the primary and intermediate stages (first phase) for distance education in light of the continuation of the pandemic and its implications, and the consequent importance of taking into account the variables related to distance education and future developments For curricula, the need to review study plans, and the importance of taking into account the balance between subjects in terms of quantity and quality, and to achieve suitability with the timeframe for each class in light of the continuation of the remote educational process.

The Minister of Education’s directive directed to the education departments in the regions and governorates of the Kingdom included the approval of the developed plan, provided that the developed study plan is subject to evaluation and review by the main committee for study plans and curricula in the ministry in light of what is being raised from the curriculum development center in the ministry, as well as raising by the education departments accordingly.
