Bloomberg revealed that Apple company It is developing its first virtual reality helmet, which will come with a fabric design and equipped with a cooling fan, and it is definitely expensive, as is usually the case with Apple in the first release of its new products.

The company is expected to launch the helmet early next year, and it will be a stand-alone helmet that does not need to be connected to a smartphone and works through batteries similar to the Oculus Quest 2 helmet.

And Apple develops the processing chip and advanced helmet technologies, which will be of high capabilities, which drives the company to use a cooling fan, so that some chips will perform more than the M1 processor in the new Mac computers.

Apple prototyped the helmet and confronted the problems of bulky size and heavy weight, making it uncomfortable in use and on the face. So the company uses fabric and fabric on the outer body to reduce weight, and unusually for company designs, there may be a cooling fan.

The new helmet has the codename N301 and is similar to the Oculus Quest helmet, and Apple has also tested the possibility of using cameras to provide augmented reality features as well. It will also be used to track the movement of the head for use in some software features such as the virtual keyboard.

The first release will not be directed at the general public, but rather it will be a product targeting a specific segment of people, which may negatively affect sales that are expected to be less than 200,000 annually.

It is reported that Apple has a team of 100 people working on the company’s various projects in the fields of virtual and augmented reality, and the launch of the helmet has become closer than ever.
