Al Nuaimi reviews the results of the Household Income and Expenditure Survey


His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ajman, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, the most important results of the survey of family income and spending in the emirate of Ajman prepared by the Ajman Center for Statistics and Competitiveness and its recommendations, and included the reality of spending and income For families in the emirate. It is one of the important surveys that help study the socio-economic levels of the family.
The presentation was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Tourism Development Department, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of the Municipality and Planning Department, Sheikh Dr. Majid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ruler’s Court, Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matroushi, Secretary General of the Executive Council, and Hamad Bin Ghalita, Private Secretary to His Highness the Ruler of Ajman, Tariq Bin Ghaliza, Director of the Ruler’s Office of Ajman, and Youssef Al Nuaimi, Director General of Ceremonies and Hospitality, and a number of senior officials.
During the presentation by Dr. Hajer Al-Hubaishi, Executive Director of the Ajman Center for Statistics and Competitiveness, His Highness reviewed a brief overview of the survey strategy and its main results related to Ajman vision and indicators related to the sustainable development goals. The results provide about 100 indicators, and include indicators related to quality of life and social and economic well-being. Determining the family’s self-sufficiency line, spending on education and health, knowing the size of the productive family, and the pattern of spending and family consumption.
His Highness and the attendees listened to the most important results related to the demographic characteristics of families, social and economic living conditions, income results and sources, according to the number of families and their classification by income groups, as well as the families’ spending groups in the emirate and their details. It also presented detailed results of the special cases of citizens, and the most basic requirements for decent living, the extent of the family’s knowledge of the culture of financial investment, and the status of the cost of living in the emirate according to the prevailing pattern.
His Highness also reviewed the most important recommendations that emerged from the survey, including conducting an in-depth study on the cases of national families living in rent, encouraging people with limited income to start investment projects, studying the issuance of smart cards for them to buy consumer goods, and encouraging beneficiaries of local aid to register in “My information” platform, organizing programs and workshops on financial literacy, especially investment and savings, designing training programs for citizens looking for work, especially those with limited income, helping them to obtain job opportunities, and developing procedures for “social case studies” for families who deserve assistance, and require field visits. At the end of the meeting, His Highness the Ruler of Ajman praised the efforts of the Center, represented in providing detailed, comprehensive and complete data on social and economic life, which reflects the leadership’s strategic thinking in supporting decision-making with modern tools and accurate data, and its keenness to provide their full needs by standing on aspects of their livelihood and providing All that guarantees a decent life for citizens, for the sake of developing services in the emirate, and taking the right decision in the development process and drawing up public policies, including plans for civilized advancement in the emirate.
His Highness said: The survey conducted by the center helps to study the social and economic levels of the family. It also provides statistical data that includes demographic, social, economic, educational, and health characteristics, and others that enable an assessment of the population situation in the emirate, and it supports the government to develop development plans on scientific grounds based on the availability of data.
He appreciated the importance of preparing a comprehensive and accurate database that would help in setting sustainable plans and programs that contribute to bringing about the required development and advancing the integrated development wheel in the Emirate of Ajman. He called on the work team to continue efforts to make all national and local projects a success, and urged the community to provide accurate and correct data.
The survey is being implemented in the UAE, with full supervision, cooperation and coordination, between the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center and local statistics centers.
The survey includes citizenship, non-citizens and group households. It is considered one of the most important surveys in the world, due to the data and information it provides to decision-makers on the living standards of the various groups of society, which reflect the level of society’s well-being and the quality of life.
