The artist Tamer Hosni took advantage of his presence at the opening ceremony of the 42nd session of the Cairo International Film Festival, and ended his dispute with the artist Ahmed El Sakka.
During his presence on the stage, artist Ashraf Abdel-Baqi asked Tamer Hosni about his disappearance, to answer that he was not hiding, but rather he was quarreling with the artist Ahmed El-Sakka, then he said: “We suffocated on the satellite channels and we will reconcile with the satellite channels as well.”
Tamer Hosni went to embrace the Sakka and end the dispute that they had signed a while ago.
The dispute between the duo came because of Sakka’s dissatisfaction with his name being placed in the advertisement for the movie “Money”, and he only participated as a guest of honor.
The opening ceremony of the 42nd session of the Cairo International Film Festival began, amid strict precautionary measures, which the festival is committed to implementing in accordance with the protocols laid down by the Egyptian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, in order to present a technically successful, health-safe course, in light of the confrontation that the world is fighting against the Corona virus, and it was The first of these measures is to provide a free pcr analysis to all guests of the opening ceremony, which is held in the open air at the Cairo Opera House, in compliance with the decision of the Council of Ministers.
The opening ceremony, which is broadcast live by dmc channel, will see the great writer Waheed Hamed honoring the Golden Pyramid for Lifetime Achievement Award, which is the same award that the festival gives to the British writer and director Christopher Hampton, as well as the artist Mona Zaki with the Faten Hamama Award for Excellence.
During the ceremony, which is also witnessing a special appearance by the artist Ashraf Abdel-Baqi, and a new song by the singer Tamer Hosni, the jury for competitions and prizes of the 42nd session will be introduced, foremost of which is the international competition headed by Russian director Alexander Sokurov.
For the opening, the festival chose the British-French film “The Father” directed by Florian Zeller, in its first screening in the Arab world and Africa. Oscar and BAFTA, and English Oscar-winning actress Olivia Coleman.
