Data from the Turkish Ministry of Health showed that the country’s daily death toll from COVID-19 hit a record for the ninth consecutive day on Tuesday, with 190 deaths in the past 24 hours.
The total deaths in the country since the beginning of the epidemic in March reached 13,836 deaths.
The number of new cases of coronavirus, including those without symptoms, during the past 24 hours reached a record high, reaching 30,110.
For four months, Turkey only reported asymptomatic cases, but since Wednesday it has reported all cases.
Data for the total number of cases is still not available.
And Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced, on Monday evening, a curfew from 21:00 on Friday evening to 5:00 in the morning of Monday.
Erdogan stressed that there is no other solution but measures to limit the movement of people to the lowest level to reduce the negative impact of the pandemic.
