Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah reiterated that the Palestinian cause is essential Arab, and that the Kingdom has not hesitated to defend the cause since the era of King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman.
The Saudi minister sent a message of solidarity, today, Wednesday, to the Committee concerned with the exercise of the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
It stated: “Saudi Arabia’s position remains firm in the Palestinian issue and in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinians, and in adhering to the Arab peace initiative that was drawn up by the Kingdom and adopted by the Arab countries at the Beirut summit in 2002, which affirms the Palestinians’ right to an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.” Its capital is Jerusalem, the return of refugees and the withdrawal of the occupation from the occupied Syrian Arab Golan.
The Saudi Foreign Minister added: “The Kingdom reiterates its commitment to support the strategic choice for peace in accordance with international resolutions and laws, stresses the importance of the Israeli occupation ceasing building settlements on Palestinian lands, and supports what was stated in Security Council Resolution 2334, which affirmed that the Israeli occupation of settlements on Palestinian lands Constitutes a flagrant violation under international law, and an obstacle to achieving permanent and comprehensive peace. ”
