The American software company, Sales Force, announced that it will acquire the Slack platform for messaging in the workplace, for $ 27.7 billion in cash and shares.
Sales Force said in a press statement yesterday that Slack shareholders will receive $ 26.79 in cash and 0.0776 shares of Salesforce for every Slack share.
This deal constitutes one of the largest software acquisitions, and the largest acquisition for Salesforce, and the deal will also create a cloud giant that is a more fierce competition to Microsoft.

It is noteworthy that communication platforms have received a big boost due to the Coronavirus pandemic, with more people forced to work from home.
And the US cloud computing services company,, made an increase in its profits during the third quarter of this year, exceeding expectations.
The company stated that the third-quarter profit amounted to $ 1.08 billion, equivalent to $ 1.15 per share, compared to $ 110 million, equivalent to $ 0.12 per share, during the same period last year.
The company’s profits, after accounting for seasonal variables and excluding non-recurring items, reached $ 1.64 billion, equivalent to $ 1.74 per share, while analysts had expected these profits to be $ 0.75 per share.
The company’s revenues increased during the third quarter to 5.42 billion dollars compared to 4.51 billion dollars during the same period last year.
