On the American way … who will get the Corona vaccine first?

On Tuesday, a US medical advisory committee recommended that priority be given to vaccinations against Covid-19 in the United States, in the first phase, for health care workers, elderly residents, and long-term care facilities.

The advisory committee of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a non-binding recommendation, issued by a majority of 13 votes to one member who voted against it, that the number of members of these two groups in the United States is approximately 24 million people.

This figure is roughly equal to the total number of people who could be vaccinated during December, if the Pfizer / Bionic and Directorna vaccines were to obtain the necessary licenses and were produced in the supposed quantities.

On Tuesday, the United States recorded the death of more than 2,500 people from the Corona virus within 24 hours, in a daily toll, the highest ever in this country since the end of April, according to data published by Johns Hopkins University.

The university data, which is considered a reference in tracking injuries and deaths resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, showed that between 20:30 on Monday and 20:30 on Tuesday evening, the United States recorded 2562 deaths, and more than 180,000 new cases of the virus.

The last time the daily death toll in the United States crossed this threshold was at the end of April, when the pandemic was at its peak.

And the United States, which has been witnessing a new epidemic boom a few weeks ago, is the country with the most recorded deaths due to the Corona virus in the whole world, and this toll reached 270,450 deaths Tuesday evening.
