US President-elect Joe Biden told CNN, Thursday, that he had asked the director of the American Institute of Infectious Diseases, Doctor Anthony Fauci, to be part of his team to combat Covid-19.

Fauci is a member of the Crisis Cell set up by the White House to confront the Corona virus, but he has been subjected to violent attacks by Donald Trump, who has regularly reduced the risk of this pandemic, which has killed more than 275,000 people in the United States.

On the other hand, Biden indicated that he intends to ask the Americans, on the day he takes office, to wear masks for a period of 100 days.

He said that “a mask should be worn for a hundred days, not forever, and I think we will see a significant decrease (in the level of infection).”

Fauci, who is highly respected in the United States, is considered one of the most prominent figures the American people have followed since the start of the pandemic.

Fauchi warned Americans, a few days ago, of a “big boom” in the spread of the Corona virus, with millions of travelers returning home after the Thanksgiving holiday, which will witness its consequences in the coming period.

Fauchi recently appeared in a live broadcast with the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, where he answered a number of questions related to the two vaccines that are being studied by the US Food and Drug Administration, in order to approve their inclusion in the emergency use program.

Fauchi always encourages the use of the five basic measures in public health: wearing masks, social distancing, avoiding crowds, engaging in outdoor activities and washing hands.

Fauci recently signaled an ominous trend, with the approaching Christmas holidays and more travel at the end of the year.
