Hamed Al-Balawi, Executive Director of Al-Ittihad Club, expressed his surprise at the way the referee appeared in the match against Al-Shabab in the semi-final round of the Mohammed VI Cup for Champions Clubs, which ended in a positive tie with two goals for each team, explaining that the referee was prejudiced against his team.
Al-Balawi explained, after the end of the match, that the referee did not return to the video assistive technology after Al-Shabab scored his second goal, in addition to not giving the Argentine captain of the youth team a yellow card after he dispersed the ball towards the Al-Ittihad bench seats after the referee announced a mistake against him for blocking the Brazilian Romarinho.
For his part, Saeed Al-Aweeran, a former Saudi soccer star and youth player, said that his team was able to win the match with a great result, explaining in his speech to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat: We could have won Al-Ittihad by three or four if the team appeared in the first half at a level similar to what appeared On him in the second half of a distinguished performance.
Al-Owairan indicated in his speech that he was satisfied with the level and performance of the youth team, stressing the difficulty of facing the second leg, especially after Al-Ittihad scored two goals outside its home and entered the top goal in the next match.
The youth confrontation with its counterpart Al-Ittihad ended in a positive tie with two goals each, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Mohammed VI Cup for Champions Clubs, where he scored for young Argentine Joanca and Chilean Igor, while Al-Ittihad goals were scored by Gary Rodriguez, and Brazilian Romarinho, who raised his score in the scorers list to Six goals.
The match witnessed a missed penalty kick for the youth team, which the team obtained after the referee returned to the video assistant technology, after the contact that occurred between Nawaf Al-Abed and Abdul-Ilah Al-Maliki, Al-Ittihad defender, where the Brazilian goalkeeper Grohe succeeded in addressing the penalty carried out by the Argentine Banega.
The return match will be held in Jeddah at the host of Al Ittihad Club on January 4, to determine the identity of the finalist.
