Vision and goal
The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park was established by the order of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, as this project was designed according to best practices and the highest international standards used in building technology parks. It focuses on several axes, including water technology, environmental technology, renewable energy, transportation technology, information technology, industrial design and architecture, and it also works to support national industries that fall under these axes, and the importance of the complex lies in translating the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah And the leaders of the UAE, by activating the role of education and universities in scientific research.
The infrastructure of roads and green spaces was completed, in addition to the headquarters of the administration and companies; As what distinguishes it is its presence in an integrated and comprehensive university city, as there are several universities in this university city, which include more than 46 thousand students, and there are also more than 2000 academics with a doctoral degree; As the Academy cooperates with many research bodies and institutions in the field of innovation, and many experiences have been applied with international scientific, academic and research bodies and institutions all over the world. Thus, the complex will become in scientific research at the regional level during the next few years.
The role of the Academy lies in linking the efforts of the private sector institutions, government agencies and academic institutions to support applied scientific and technological research to carry out investment activities, support the state’s orientations towards a knowledge economy, and develop and embrace talent and manpower working in areas related to vital areas that would improve the quality of life. The green houses project, which is being developed by Marlin International within its location in the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex, is considered one of its most important innovations; Where these homes are described as green due to the ideal environment that it provides as a place to live, and with friendly specifications for all components of nature and clean energy.
Funiculars
The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park embraces one of the largest laboratories and scientific research centers applied to smart transportation at the global level. One of the major international companies specialized in the smart transportation sector and taking the complex as its headquarters is working on developing a system of innovative solutions that express the modern concept of urban mobility within cities. Where research, development and testing operations are conducted on these new technologies in Sharjah, to be marketed later in major global capitals.
SKYWAY GREENTECH has begun construction operations on the suspended aerial trains project in the land allocated to it in the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex, to be a vivid example of the strategic partnership process between the private investment sector, represented by the implementing company and the academic research sector at the American University of Sharjah. ; The first test phase of the project was completed, and the suspended vehicles began operating for a short distance.
