Abu Dhabi (ArduPoint Network 25 November 2020 -) The recently launched Advanced Technology Research Council in Abu Dhabi announced today its plans to lead the development of future transformative technology, with the launch of its technology program management arm, “Aspire”, aimed at Developing research frameworks based on practical applications to address the major challenges facing the world.
It is decided that “Aspire” will work with stakeholders across different sectors to frame research projects, which will enable them to find appropriate solutions based on research and development .. Aspire will also work to facilitate the creation of a clear creative path that transfers the most important innovations from scientific laboratories to Commercial markets by defining a challenge or problem, identifying milestones, and then monitoring the progress of projects.
Aspire will make influential decisions related to selecting research partners and allocating funds, as well as working to ensure that research and development priorities are consistent with the development goals of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates at the broader level.
Aspire will launch major challenges involving innovators and innovators at the level of the UAE and the world, to carry out important research aimed at finding solutions to the most pressing global problems. The management of these competitions will strengthen Abu Dhabi, and the UAE in general, as an international center for advanced technology research.
Aspire has begun designing several major challenges and international competitions in the field of advanced technology, within three months of holding the first meeting of the Advanced Technology Research Council Board of Directors, where Aspire will manage the Mohammed bin Zayed International Robot Challenge / MBZIRC / International Robotics Competition. Held every two years, with prizes worth up to $ 5 million. In addition, Aspire will launch a global competition, in partnership with the X Prize Foundation. The global competition will be funded by “Ghadan 21”, the Abu Dhabi Accelerators Program, which is leading the emirate’s development through investment in business, innovation and individuals.
Commenting on the launch of Aspire, His Excellency Faisal Al Bannai, Secretary General of the Advanced Technology Research Council, said: “Ideas are a driving force in moving our economies and global societies. From this standpoint, we seek to facilitate the innovation process. Relying on management and investment in related research and development projects, we have the opportunity to tackle some of the world’s most important challenges, ensuring our transition towards a better tomorrow.
