Saudi Arabia participates in preparing the “ALECSO” strategy

The plan, which Saudi Arabia will contribute to preparing, will discuss the main features of preparing and developing future directions and related initiatives, and completing them until 2028.
It will be decided to adopt the strategy at the organization’s general conference in 2022, in the presence of ministers and heads of national committees of the member states of the organization, after it is presented to the organization’s executive council during its next meeting in April 2021. This is ALECSO’s fifth strategic plan since its establishment in 1970, the first (1984-2001), the second (2005-2010), the third (2010-2016), the fourth and current, which started 2017 and ends in 2022.
ALECSO works within the scope of the League of Arab States and is concerned with the advancement of Arab culture, the development of the fields of education, culture and science at the regional and national levels, and joint coordination between them among the Arab member states, aiming at intellectual unity between the parts of the Arab world through education, culture and science. Under it, five institutes are included: the Institute for Arab Manuscripts, the Institute for Arabic Research and Studies, the Arab Coordination Office, the Khartoum International Institute for the Arabic Language, and the Arab Center for Arabization, Translation, Authorship and Publication.
It is noteworthy that this cooperation between ALECSO and the Kingdom is an indication for achieving more effective contributions at various levels locally, regionally and internationally.
