The Russian Center for Epidemic Control said today, Thursday, that 18,811 people recovered during the past day, which raises the total of those recovering to one million and 388,168 people so far.
Moscow, which is the Russian city most affected by the outbreak of the epidemic, recorded 5,997 new infections during the past 24 hours, followed by the city of Petersburg, where 1667 cases were recorded.

On August 11, Russia became the first country in the world to register a vaccine against the emerging corona virus, it was called “Sputnik V”. It was designed in the “Gamalia” Scientific Center of the Russian Ministry of Health, and its clinical tests were conducted during June and July.
Pending the launch of comprehensive vaccinations against the Corona virus, and with a rise in the number of infected people in recent days, the Russian authorities have tightened restrictions in the capital, Moscow, to limit the spread of the virus.
