Pictures..Japan fights “Corona” with luxury … Diamond and pearl masks – our life – destinations

Fashion icons in Japan can now protect oneself from the Corona virus with a kind of extravagance and luxury … masks encrusted with diamonds and pearls costing one million yen (9,600 dollars) each.
Cox’s chain began selling handmade masks last week, aiming to delight Japanese and stimulate sales in the fashion industry, which has been depressed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The diamond muzzle is studded with a 0.7 carat diamond and over 300 Swarovski crystals, while the pearl mask is adorned with approximately 330 Japanese Akoya pearls.
“Everyone’s spirits are low due to Corona, and it is nice for them to feel a degree of joy when seeing one of these glittering masks,” said Azusa Kagitaka, who works in the company’s store near Tokyo Station.
“The jewelry and textile industry is also in recession due to the Corona virus, so we took this step as part of a project to help revive Japan,” she added.
And Japanese masks are not the most expensive in the world. There is a $ 1.5 million mask made of 250 grams of 18-carat gold designed by the Israeli Eiffel Jewelers Store.
