DUBAI, 16th November, 2018 (WAM) – The National Olympic Committee will participate in the “National Olympic Committees of the Group of Twenty” conference organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia virtually in partnership between the Saudi Secretariat of the G20 and the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee tomorrow, Tuesday, under the title “The Olympic Movement During the Corona Pandemic And then, as part of the program of international conferences held on the sidelines of the Saudi Presidency of the Group 2020.
The committee is represented at the conference by HE Mohamed Al Mahmoud, Second Deputy Chairman of the Committee, and Eng. Azza Bint Suleiman, member of its Executive Office.
The conference will be chaired by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, with the participation of the President of the International Olympic Committee, Dr. Thomas Bach, Honorary President of the Conference of the National Olympic Committees.
The conference discusses the most important opportunities and challenges facing the Olympic and sports sector at the global level after the global pandemic and highlights the important role that the Olympic movement plays in helping the international community to recover socially, economically and healthily from the consequences of the post-pandemic.
The National Olympic Committee received an invitation from its Saudi counterpart, in addition to the National Olympic Committees of the countries that were invited to attend the G20 summit, namely Jordan, Spain, Rwanda, Singapore, Switzerland, Vietnam, the World Health Organization, international federations, continental Olympic committees, and the National Olympic Committees of the G20 countries. .
