The Alexandria Film Festival administration, in its current session, was keen to honor the name of the screen monster, the late artist Farid Shawky, through a ceremony held on Sunday, in the presence of his son, Rania Farid Shawky, and his wife, Mrs. Soheir Turk.
During the ceremony, the festival management presented a documentary film about Farid Shawky’s artistic career, while the artist, Rania Farid Shawky, confirmed that her father did not force her to enter art, as she loved art and began to assume some roles when she was young.
Rania confirmed that her father was angry with her for the first time because of the role of the dancer that she presented in one of the films.
She added, “I was surprised at the time at the reason for his anger, even though he is an artist, and he objected to me taking this role even though I did not wear outside clothes at the time.”
