The port of Jizan received today, the first shipment of livestock carrying 5,144 heads from Brazil, as part of the support for food security.
These live cattle, which will be distributed to the regions of the Kingdom, were discharged in record time after examining the animal quarantine doctors at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to ensure that they were free of any quarantine diseases.
The start of receiving livestock through the Jizan port comes as confirmation of the advanced infrastructure that Jizan Port enjoys to receive various types of goods, and its qualified national cadres, in addition to the advanced equipment and capabilities, equipment and machinery designated for loading and unloading, cargo handling, cargo terminals, yards, buildings and marine equipment. As the port will receive several future import shipments from a number of European countries in the near future.
The General Authority for Ports is working to enhance the capabilities and components of Jazan Port through the implementation of many current and future projects that aim to raise the performance and quality of logistics services and operational efficiencies to provide the best and highest level of service, thus contributing to attracting and encouraging merchants and businessmen to benefit and invest in the region and beyond in light of support The generous leadership that he assumed the wise leadership to improve the ports and logistics sector, in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, under the direct follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jazan Region, and his Deputy, to advance the economic aspect and support the port of Jizan in particular.
It is noteworthy that the port of Jizan is one of the most important commercial ports in the Kingdom on the coast of the Red Sea, due to its location of maritime trade routes between Europe, the Far East, the Persian Gulf and East Africa, and it is the main sea gateway to the southern region of the Kingdom.
