The thriller “Crime on the Banks of the Nile” has been removed from the list of holiday movies, threatening the chances of reviving the industry this year. The Walt Disney Company said that the release of the film, based on a novel by police writer Agatha Christie, and starring actors including Gal Gadot and Kenneth Prana, will be delayed indefinitely, according to Reuters. The film was scheduled to be shown in North America and most parts of the world in December 18, the latest film to be postponed as the industry struggles to return to work amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The move comes after several European countries, including the United Kingdom, Italy and France, re-imposed strict lockdown decisions to combat the increase in Coronavirus cases. Movie theaters in the largest US market in New York and Los Angeles remain closed.
