Ali Al-Nuaimi discusses developing parliamentary relations with Italy

Dr. Ali Rashid Al-Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, discussed, during a virtual (remote) meeting, with Peru Vicino, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Italian House of Representatives, the existing cooperation relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance them in various fields and develop relations Parliamentary between the Federal National Council and the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
The meeting was attended by Omar Al Shamsi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Italy, Nicolas Linear, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to the State, Afra Al Basti, Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Liaison, and Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, Second Secretary of the UAE Embassy in the Republic of Italy.
The two sides expressed the depth of the bilateral relations that bind the two friendly countries, and ways to enhance them, in light of the growth witnessed by relations at various levels, especially political and economic, and the opening of new horizons for cooperation in various fields, especially parliamentary and cultural.
Dr. Ali Rashid Al-Nuaimi said that during the meeting, it was agreed to hold more bilateral meetings, to hold joint seminars in religious and cultural dialogue, to promote parliamentary relations, and to assign the embassies of the two countries to work during the coming period on the implementation of joint programs between the two sides.
The two sides discussed the repercussions of the Covid-19 crisis, as Dr. Ali Rashid Al-Nuaimi affirmed the solidarity and support of the United Arab Emirates for all countries of the world during this difficult period, and that the UAE will continue to work on the global level to support the international community, especially the countries that suffer the outbreak of the epidemic the most.
He emphasized that the UAE is considered a model at the regional and global level in developing the legislations it issues according to an integrated system that looks at all developments, especially the global ones, and is proactive in issuing many legislations, especially those that address global challenges, and needs a joint international effort such as combating terrorism, extremism and criminalizing discrimination. It is of utmost importance as it relates to multiple aspects, such as protecting the interests of states and peoples.
For his part, Piero Vicino expressed his deep appreciation for holding the meeting, praising the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially the parliamentary one, stressing the desire of the Italian Parliament to develop parliamentary relations with the Federal National Council, praising the recent parliamentary elections for the Federal National Council.
He stressed the importance of the continuation of the Emirati-Italian Friendship Association’s work to achieve the goals for which it was established, which is to enhance rapprochement between the two friendly countries, discuss potential cooperation opportunities in cultural fields, and discuss cooperation opportunities in the field of infrastructure, such as railway projects, airports, ports and highways.
