Washington: If missiles from Iran reach Venezuela, we will destroy them

The White House Special Envoy for Iran and Venezuela Elliott Abrams warned that “the United States will destroy any long-range missiles that Iran sends to Venezuela.”

He pointed out, in an interview with Fox News, the American TV network, that “President Donald Trump’s administration will do its utmost to avoid a situation of this kind, but if the weapons reach the Caribbean country, they will be eliminated there.”

Abrams pointed out that “Iran has sent missiles to the Houthis in Yemen and we know that they are ready to do the same with Venezuela and other potential buyers. Every shipment of Iranian weapons destabilizes South America and the Caribbean poses a particular threat to Venezuela’s neighbors: Brazil, Colombia and Guyana.”
