The Turkish authorities announced that 6 people were killed and 202 others were injured in a 6.6-magnitude earthquake that struck Izmir, western Turkey.
According to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency, “AFAD”, the earthquake killed 6 people and injured 202 others, according to preliminary information.
AFAD confirmed that searches are continuing in all cities affected by the earthquake, while the armed forces are carrying out aerial surveys.
So far, according to AFAD, about 70 people have been rescued from the rubble in the state.
The Turkish Seismological Authority reported that it had recorded at least 21 aftershocks, while the Greek authorities confirmed that the earthquake was felt in Greece as well.
