In recent years when iPhones got more augmented reality features, Apple also developed an app called Measure that allows users to measure the dimensions of items in the real world, such as a table or cupboard etc. However, thanks to the LiDAR scanner built into the iPhone 12 Pro lineup, this app can now be used to measure a person’s height.

We know that it might be a fairly new feature, but it’s also stylish. The new feature has been added to the Measure app, so all users need is to point their phone’s camera at the concerned person and the app will use the LiDAR scanner to measure the height of the person, whether they are sitting or standing.

It looks like the app will actually be able to tell if a person is in view of the viewfinder, and it will also be able to detect things like the top of a person’s head, hair or hat, all the way down to their feet. Users can also take a picture with the measurements and send it to other people if they wish.

This feature appears to be exclusive to iPhone 12 Pro models, which include the recently released iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max scheduled for release in November. It will also be available to iPad Pro 2020 owners as Apple’s first ever LiDAR scanner has been used.
