Egyptian artist Mahmoud Yassin passed away this morning, Wednesday, at the age of 79, after a long struggle with illness.
Amr Mahmoud Yassin, son of the deceased, said through his account on the social networking site “Facebook”: “He passed away, to the mercy of God Almighty, my father, the artist Mahmoud Yassin, we belong to God and to Him we shall return .. I ask you to pray.”
It is worth noting that the late artist has a long history of artistic works in cinema, theater, television and radio. He is married to a famous Egyptian artist and actress, and they have two sons, Amr and Rania.
Mahmoud Yassin is considered the record holder for films about Nasr October, and he is the star of October cinema. The funny thing is that he started in the cinema as a soldier in several films and then rose to prominence in his last films the character of Field Marshal Muhammad Ali Fahmy, commander of the Air Defense Forces, in the movie “The Wall of Championships.”
