Sony confirms support for streaming content apps on PS5 and PS4


Sony announced on its blog today its plans to support content streaming applications on PS5 and PS4 devices, with content-streaming applications including the APPLE TV application among other applications.

Sony confirmed, in details published today, its plans to bring the Apple TV app into the PS5 media space, and the application is also scheduled to be compatible with the Media Remote controller to support the user with the control feature and search for content.

With Apple TV streaming app support, users can experience original shows from Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, Ted Lasso, and The Morning Show via Apple TV Plus.

On the other hand, users will be able to subscribe and register to premium channels by renting or purchasing movies and TV shows, and users will also have access to previous shows, and the Apple TV app will also be available on PS4, and Apple TV will be launched on the PlayStation platform on November 12th.

The apps that will be available on the PS5 include the following:

  • Netflix
  • Spotify
  • Twitch
  • YouTube.

More content-streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video, MyCanal, and Peacock will be available later, and Sony has confirmed support for broadcasting and sharing game content directly via Twitch and YouTube.
