Today, Friday, the Saudi Customs Authority announced that foreign vehicles will be exempted from a fine for violating their stay more than the period allowed in the Kingdom, starting from October 1, 2020, for a period of 30 days.
She explained, “Due to the exceptional circumstances that accompanied the Corona pandemic and the consequent closure of the land ports, it was decided to exempt foreign vehicles that entered the Kingdom after the date of December 10, 2019 from fines, provided that the vehicle is removed within 30 days from the date of the announcement.” .
Customs decided to exempt foreign vehicles, which there is a justification for remaining in the Kingdom for study or work, with the need to present documents that prove these justifications, along with the exemption request, as they are exempted only after the request is accepted.
The authority warned that, “except for the aforementioned cases, vehicles must be demarcated according to customs requirements for importing vehicles, or fines and violations against them must be applied.”
And she confirmed that, after the 30-day exemption period ends, fines and violations will be applied to all foreign vehicles in violation, without exception.
