Record numbers in the world … the Health Organization warns of “alarming levels” for Corona in Europe, and the Germans disagree about the autumn holiday

The World Health Organization has warned that the Corona crisis in Europe has reached levels it described as worrying, and said that it has become the fifth cause of death in the countries of the continent.

The European branch of the organization added that death rates “4 or 5 times higher than April” may be recorded by January if “strategies to ease restrictions for long periods of time” are applied.

European Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides called on the 27 countries holding a meeting Thursday to “do what is necessary” to “avoid a general lockdown,” while the resurgence of the virus pushes them to tighten their measures.

The next session of the European Parliament will take place from 19 to 22 October by default, not in Strasbourg, which has not been visited by European representatives for 7 months.

On Thursday, French Prime Minister Jean Castex reviewed new measures to stop the spread of the Coronavirus, a day after the announcement of a night curfew, starting from Saturday in the Paris region and in 8 major cities.

He added that “all private parties” organized “in multi-purpose halls or any other facility that receive an audience” across the country will be banned and that restaurants in France will have to implement enhanced health measures.

In the morning, searches were carried out on the homes and offices of the current Minister of Health Olivier Ferrand and former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe as part of a judicial investigation into the management of the health crisis.

With the follow-up of measures in the face of the new wave of the virus, the repercussions of the crisis seem to be increasing on the political scene and decision centers, in Brussels, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, left the headquarters of the European Summit and placed herself in stone due to an infection of one of her office members with Corona.

Von der Leyen wrote on Twitter that she was informed, shortly after the start of the summit, that a member of her reception desk had undergone a corona test and had tested positive for the virus.

The Belgian Foreign Minister also announced to quarantine herself after the symptoms of the Corona virus appeared on her.

The Corona virus confused the agenda of European lawmakers, as the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, announced the cancellation of a public session that was scheduled in the French city of Strasbourg next week due to fears of Corona.

Shocking numbers

In the latest census, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control said that it had recorded 4 million and 400,000 confirmed cases of the virus in European Union countries, and the pandemic had killed 198,000.

The Regional Director of the World Health Organization, Hans Kluge, urged European leaders to implement strict measures as the virus reached levels that the organization considered extremely worrying.

In Britain, the government raised the state of alert in London and 7 other regions to the second level to limit the increase in the number of injuries, which doubles every 10 days.

With the approaching winter season, these terrifying increases in the number of injuries and deaths are haunting all people.

And in Russia, it was announced today that new daily cases of Coronavirus recorded a record high of 15,150, including 5,049 cases in the capital, Moscow, bringing the total number of infections to one million and about 370,000 since the start of the pandemic.

In Israel, the occupation authorities announced 1608 injuries due to corona during the last 24 hours, thus recording a decrease in the number of injuries compared to the numbers recorded during the past weeks.

In India, 895 people have died from the Coronavirus in the last 24 hours. And the Indian Ministry of Health stated, on Friday, that the total deaths from Corona rose to 112,161, after 895 new cases were recorded. It confirmed the diagnosis of 63,371 new infections, bringing the total to 7 million 370 thousand and 468.

The new Corona virus has killed at least 1 million 930,624 people in the world since the WHO office in China reported the outbreak of the disease in late December.

More than 38 million and 571 thousand and 770 injuries were recorded, while at least 26 million and 662 thousand people have recovered.

Autumn holidays

And after Germany was an example at the European level in managing the “Covid-19” pandemic, today it is witnessing a dispute regarding dangerous areas and “Corona chaos” – as described by the weekly “Focus” – resulting from the restrictions imposed during the holidays, at a time when a sharp increase is recorded. Injuries.

Finally, some states complied with the demands, easing measures that were criticized for causing confusion for the Germans in organizing their autumn holidays, which began for some in October and sometimes extends until early November.

The 16 German states concerned with managing health affairs may set their own restrictions without Angela Merkel’s federal government having the final say in this regard.
