Today (Sunday), the General Presidency for Academic Research and Iftaa published an audio clip of Saleh Al-Fawzan, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars and a member of the Permanent Fatwa Committee, in which he talked about the Sharia approach in dealing with offensive fees.
Al-Fawzan stated that insulting the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was not new, as it was said that he was a magician, a liar, a priest, and a poet, and that he was nothing but patience, ignorance and calculation, stressing that he forbade his companions to respond or take revenge on the polytheists.
He pointed out that the demonstrations and acts of violence against those in the custody of Muslims are considered a betrayal of the teachings of the true religion, so it is not permissible to attack and kill innocent people or harm them even if they are polytheists, because Islam is not a religion of anger and revenge.
