Manchester United said it will distribute 5,000 free school meals during the October holidays to help striker Marcus Rashford in his campaign to end nutritional poverty for children in Britain.

The Rashford campaign succeeded in requiring the government to provide meals for children in need during the school holidays. Dozens of local organizations in the country have joined the campaign of Rashford, 22, which he launched via social media on the Internet.

In cooperation with the “Fair Share” charity, meals will be prepared by the club’s staff at Old Trafford before they are transferred to the schools cooperating with the Manchester United Foundation. Meals from the club will be received by 6 local schools, while other meals will be distributed to local charities.
