Liverpool coach, German Jurgen Klopp, compared his team’s performance against his guest, on Tuesday, in the second round of the Champions League competition, to the fluctuations in marital life.
“It was a difficult evening,” Klopp said after the match, which ended with Liverpool’s two goals, without responding. “It’s a bit like getting married, there are good times and bad times, not bad times but deceptive times.”
He added, “We have to stay together and fight hard, and this is what the players did tonight.”
And about the injury of Brazilian Fabinho and his replacement in the 30th minute by the young Reese Williams, Klopp commented: “Liverpool lost Fabinho in the first half, his replacement Reese Williams is 19 years old, and I think he played more matches in the Champions League than the English Premier League, and this is rare, we are doing well. But it (Fabinho’s injury) is a shock, because now we need to deal with this injury. ”
The German coach added: “Fabinho’s injury is the last thing we need. I know he felt some discomfort in his hamstring, and this is not good.”
Klopp did not mention during his statements the situation of the Liverpool star, the Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, who was seen after the end of the Liverpool match and his guest Maitieland, as he limped while on his way to the changing room at Anfield.
