DEWA honors WETEX and Dubai Solar 2020 partners and sponsors

In a virtual ceremony, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) honored the partners and sponsors of the Water, Energy and Environment Technology Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Energy 2020, which it organized through a three-dimensional virtual platform, for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The exhibition this year attracted 63,058 visitors from all over the world, and is the largest number of visitors in the history of the exhibition in 22 years.
In his speech during the ceremony, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of the Authority, founder and president of WETEX and Dubai Solar Energy, indicated that DEWA organizes the exhibition annually under the generous direction of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, committing to support the process of sustainable development in the United Arab Emirates, and to consolidate Dubai’s position as a leading global center for clean energy and green economy .
Al Tayer praised the partners and sponsors of the exhibition, stressing that the success achieved by WETEX in its twenty-second session this year, via a three-dimensional virtual platform, confirms Dubai’s leadership in organizing major events and its ability to overcome obstacles and challenges and turn them into promising opportunities, in line with the vision and directives of the wise leadership. The innovative “carbon neutral” exhibition, the first of its kind in the MENA region, witnessed the participation of 1,076 companies from 52 countries around the world.
He added: “Cooperation and integration between the public and private sectors is an important pillar for achieving the aspirations of the Emirate of Dubai and consolidating its position as an advanced model that provides the appropriate climate and environment supportive of investment. In Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, we work closely with our partners from the government and private sectors in many pilot projects, especially in The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is the largest solar energy complex in one location in the world.
