Sayed Abdel Hafeez, director of football at Al-Ahly club, refused to decide Ahmed Fathi’s future with the team and left the door open for his participation in the CAF Champions League final.

Abdel Hafeez said in radio statements via “On Sport”: “Whether Fathi participated in the African Champions League final or not, he will also participate in the league, regardless of his participation in Africa with Al-Ahly or not, but the player offers great levels in the red jersey and participates very professionally and offers His best, even though he played as a left-back.

Al-Ahly Football Manager added: “Despite reaching the final, the team has not yet won the Champions League title, so we have to focus on the final, as we have not guaranteed winning the long tournament, which will last up to a year and 3 months.”

He continued: “Ali Maaloul will attend collective training for the Al-Ahly club during Tuesday’s training in a large percentage, and we refused to risk him in the return leg against Wydad despite the Tunisian player’s desire to participate.”

He explained: “The spirit, persistence and desire factor is one of the most important features of Al-Ahly club, and this was clearly demonstrated in the home and away matches against Wydad.”

He continued: “Muhammad Al-Shennawi does not suffer from any injuries at the present time, and we decided to leave the Wydad meeting in order to secure his position, after he complained earlier about a pulled connective muscle injury.”

And he added, “Badji is not outside Seasoniani’s accounts. There are some technical variables, and circumstances may differ in the coming period, and the player gets his chance.”

He concluded: “Musimani works 24 hours, and I see that he has gone a long way in resolving the file of new and loaned deals, despite his great emphasis also on crowning the Champions League.”
