From seven Arab countries and 11 publishing houses, 13 writers are competing to win the Etisalat Book Award for Children’s Book organized by the UAE Board on Books for Young People and sponsored by “Etisalat” in its 12th session. The winners of its six categories will be crowned in an official ceremony to be held “remotely” next November. .

The award for its categories is allocated 300 thousand dirhams for the “Book of the Year for the Child” category, distributed equally to the publisher, author and illustrator. The winner in the “Book of the Year for Young People” category will receive a prize of 200,000 dirhams, distributed equally between the author and the publisher, while the winner receives in the category “Best Text, a prize of 100,000 dirhams, and the “best drawings” category of 100,000 dirhams.
The winner in the “Best Directing” category will receive a prize of 100,000 dirhams, and the “Silent Book” category of 100,000 dirhams, in addition to allocating the award to 300,000 dirhams to organize a series of workshops aimed at building the capacities of Arab youth in writing and drawing, within the “Workshop” program. Of the award.
This year, the award received 221 participation requests from 22 Arab and foreign countries, and the number of entries in the Children’s Book of the Year category reached 119, while the Young People’s Book of the Year category achieved 40 entries, while 12 entries were submitted to the Silent Book category, while the total number of qualified entries reached 171 applications from 93 publishers and 174 writers, and the number of children’s book illustrators reached 158, while 50 participants were excluded for not meeting the special requirements.
