The quarter-final draw of the AFC Champions League for the West, which was held today, Monday, was awarded to Al-Ahly against its compatriot Al-Nasr in the second meeting that brings together two Saudi teams during the continental tournament, which is currently held by the grouping system.
The confrontation between the two Saudi teams will be the third between them this season, knowing that they will meet in a fourth meeting after the end of the Asian Championship in the semi-finals of the King’s Cup late next month.
This match will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, before the match against Persepolis of Iran and Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals as well, which will be held at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
The Iranian Persepolis, who removed the Qatari dam, will meet his counterpart Bakhtakor, the Uzbek, who toppled Tehran’s independence from the quarter-finals, while Al-Ahly qualified for this role after overcoming the youth of Dubai’s people in a penalty shootout.
Al-Raqi was eliminated from the quarter-finals of the last edition in the quarter-finals against Al-Hilal, who later won the championship, after winning the latter 4-3 in aggregate, while Al-Nasr left the same round after losing the same result to Al-Sadd.
