US President Donald Trump has said that a vaccine for the Corona virus may be ready for use within four weeks.
Trump added, in remarks carried by Bloomberg News this morning, Wednesday: “Maybe the previous (US) administration would have taken years to provide a vaccine because of the US Food and Drug Administration and collecting approvals … We are weeks away from getting it. Maybe three or four weeks.”
Public health authorities have raised concerns that the White House is pressuring the US Food and Drug Administration to approve a vaccine before the elections scheduled for November 3, and pharmaceutical companies that jointly develop vaccines have said that they will not provide a vaccine until it is thoroughly examined to ensure its safety and effectiveness.
