The Kingdom’s ambassador to Jordan meets the Commissioner-General of UNRWA – Saudi News


The ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairy, received in his office the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philip Lazzarini.

Ambassador Al-Sudairy praised the efforts of the Commissioner-General and UNRWA in supporting the Palestinians and alleviating their suffering, especially in these difficult and unstable times, as the world continues to face the challenges posed by the emerging Corona virus.

Ambassador Al-Sudairy affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness, under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect him – to support the Agency in a way that enables it to perform its duties towards refugees, which is a continuous effort for the Kingdom, pointing out that this support stems from its firm belief in the important assistance it provides UNRWA has benefited millions of Palestinian refugees through its educational and health programs, in addition to relief and social services, so that the Palestinian people can have a decent life.

For his part, Commissioner-General of the Agency (UNRWA) Philip Lazzarini appreciated the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the work and efforts of UNRWA in caring for Palestinian refugees.
