US authorities announced that the former porn star, Ron Jeremy, charged him, on Monday, with 20 new charges of rape or sexual assault on 12 women and a teenage girl.
The charges come two months after Jeremy, 67, was accused of raping three women and sexually assaulting a fourth.
The attorney general’s office said Jeremy, whose legal name is Ronald Jeremy Hayat, has been in jail on $ 6.6 million in bail since June and is due to appear in court to appear in court at a later time.
The new charges extend over a period of 16 years, from 2004 to January of this year, with Jeremy being accused of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old girl outside a company in Hollywood.
The charges include, according to “The Associated Press”, 5 counts of forced rape and 6 counts of sexual assault through restrictions. They also included allegations that he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl at a party in 2004.
Jeremy has pleaded not guilty to the earlier charges, and his attorney, Stuart Goldfarb, said he was “absolutely innocent”.
Investigators from the Los Angeles County Police Department also called for more potential victims to come forward when the initial charges were brought in in June.
The combined charges can lead to prison sentences of more than 250 years.
Jeremy, nicknamed “The Hedgehog,” has been among the most famous and prolific artists in the porn industry since the 1970s.
He was investigated and charged by a public prosecutor’s task force, which was formed to counter sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry as the Me Too campaign gained momentum in late 2017.
