Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched; A new war against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, due to the existing differences between them over a number of regional files and the feverish conflict in the region.
The Turkish newspaper “Cumhuriyet” revealed, today, Monday, that Saudi Arabia issued a decision, the first of its kind, to ban the entry of Turkish products, in an escalation that could pave the way for severing relations between the two countries.
The newspaper said: The Saudi authorities imposed on Saudi importers to sign undertakings not to import any goods or products from Turkey, as the decision is unofficial and comes within the framework of a popular boycott campaign.
Cumhuriyet suggested that the UAE and Bahrain would take the same step as Saudi Arabia, indicating that the volume of Turkish exports to Saudi Arabia is estimated at about $ 3.3 billion annually.
The newspaper added: The Saudi authorities will not allow Turkish products to enter their country from next October, so that the hidden ban will turn into official.
Cumhuriyet quoted one of the suppliers, whose activity extends for 30 years, as confirming that the requests were suspended after the Saudi authorities forced importers to sign a pledge not to buy goods from Turkey.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia ranks 13th among the most importing countries from Turkey, and furniture tops the list of Turkish exports, and hotels meet all their needs from Turkey, and vegetables, fruits, food commodities, wet and textiles are among the most important exports.
