Microsoft’s Surface Duo dual-screen phone is now available for purchase, starting at $ 1,400

The smartphone market is seeing the arrival of new designs like the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, and now the Surface Duo as well. If you think this latest dual-screen phone from Microsoft is worth buying, now you have a chance to buy this device assuming you live in the USA.

You can find the Surface Duo phone in the official Microsoft Store, but it is better to take a large amount of money with you before heading there, as the basic version of this dual-screen phone, which includes 128GB of internal memory, costs $ 14,000, while the version that includes 256GB of internal memory is about 1500 USD. There is no microSD slot, so you can’t change your mind about how much memory you need later. Regardless of the Surface Duo phone, there are other accessories designed for this phone, including the Surface Slim Pen, which costs $ 111, the protective cover costs $ 40, and the protective glass layer for the screen, which costs $ 60.

As a reminder, the Surface Duo phone includes two 5.6-inch OLED screens with FUllHD + resolution each, an eight-core Snapdragon 855 processor, as well as a 3577mAh battery.

The Surface Duo also includes a single 11-megapixel camera with a lens with aperture of 2.0 located on the top right of the screen next to the LED flash. Microsoft is promoting the “super zoom” feature with digital zoom up to 7x. This camera is also capable of recording videos in 4K at 60 frames per second and comes with EIS technology.

The most distinctive feature of Surface Duo is its versatility in multitasking, given that this device runs on Android 10 and brings with it a special interface that Microsoft believes will change the rules of gameplay in terms of productivity on the go. Microsoft has reformulated the Office and OneDrive apps specifically for the Surface Duo, and there are third-party apps like Kindle that have also made their way to Surface Duo.

Surface Duo will also work with all existing Android apps and comes with its own algorithms that can predict where you want to display content and how to open new apps alongside each other.

The 360-degree rotatable hinge provides multiple modes of use and different use cases, and both screens come with support for Microsoft’s Surface Pen. Moreover, Surface Duo is incredibly thin – only 9.6mm thick when folded. Despite the small capacity of the battery, it is rated as being able to provide 15.5 hours of watching videos saved in the device and up to 27 hours of conversations. Surface Duo also comes with an 18W charger.

The random memory in the Surface Duo is 6GB, while the internal memory is 128GB or 256GB, although it is not expandable via MicroSD.
