Al-Youm newspaper explained in its editorial entitled (Cyber Security … and Vision Strategies): The care and attention given by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect him – and his trustworthy Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Defense – may God protect him – for national cybersecurity stems from the principle of awareness and assertion that it is the main goal and principle to protect vital national interests, as well as everything that constitutes sensitive infrastructure, priority sectors, government services and activities.
It indicated: The Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Cybersecurity Authority, Dr. Musaed bin Muhammad Al-Aiban, in his name and the names of the members of the Board of Directors of the Authority and all its employees, presented thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense – may God preserve them – on the occasion of the Council of Ministers’s decision to approve the National Cybersecurity Strategy, and what the Minister indicated in this regard that the Kingdom is proceeding in accordance with Vision 2030 towards consolidating its regional and international position, developing its economic strength, and strengthening Its international leadership, God willing, and the vision of the National Cybersecurity Strategy represented by “a safe and reliable Saudi cyber space that enables growth and prosperity”, which reflects the Kingdom’s ambition in a balanced manner between security on the one hand. And growth and prosperity on the other hand, so that this vision is comprehensive and meets the Kingdom’s needs, priorities and aspirations, and contributes to protecting technical and operational systems and sensitive infrastructure, and enhancing the confidence of national authorities, investors and individuals in the Saudi cyberspace, and that according to the responsibility of each party in the country for its cybersecurity, the strategy will It establishes a new stage in the process of cybersecurity, and contributes to establishing an integrated national system for cybersecurity that enables national authorities to raise the level of their cybersecurity, protect their networks, systems and electronic data, and help develop the principles of cybersecurity, as well as achieve a high level of maturity and professionalism in practices.
