Yesterday, Wednesday, the Egyptian Ministry of Health said that it had recorded 160 new cases of the new Corona virus and 17 deaths, compared to 163 infections and 18 deaths the day before yesterday.
“The total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until yesterday, Wednesday, is 101,500 cases, including 86,549 cases that have been cured, and 5,696 deaths,” ministry spokesman Khaled Mujahid said in a statement.
In mid-March, Egypt imposed general isolation measures to combat the outbreak of the virus, including night curfews, banning large public gatherings, and closing restaurants, theaters and cinemas. But it has lifted most of these measures since late June.
In the latest easing of measures, the government said last Monday that it would allow weddings and cultural events to be held in open places from September 21, after being banned for months in an effort to contain the spread of the virus.
