In a statement, Al-Wehda Club confirmed that it “hopes for fairness from the relevant committees and taking into account the reasons beyond control that prevented, during the last moments, from preparing for the championship competitions.”

In a statement, the UAE Football Association affirmed its keenness to follow up on the unit’s file and ensure its rights, after it was not possible to travel, and not to play matches at the present time, for compelling reasons, and the unit’s management is keen to adhere to the implementation of precautionary measures.

The Football Association called on the relevant committees in the AFC to do justice to the Al Wahda club, which acted with high responsibility and professionalism, for the sake of the safety of all.

The AFC announced the inability of Al Wahda Club to complete its Champions League matches, due to the Corona virus, stressing that Al Wahda Club informed the AFC that it was unable to travel to complete the matches after confirming the positive of Corona virus among several members of the team. The AFC indicated that it had addressed the UAE federation to inform it of the inability to respond to its request to postpone the group stage matches, stressing that the matter would be referred to the relevant committees in the federation.
