A murder occurred in the Italian city of Lecce, in which the referee of the second and third division of football, Daniele De Santes, and his girlfriend, were killed in their apartment, Monday evening.
According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the bodies of the 33-year-old and his girlfriend, Eleonora Manta, 30, were found on the stairs of their apartment, where they were stabbed to death with a sharp object.
The newspaper pointed out that a man was seen running from the scene with a knife after alerting neighbors with screaming after the accident.
The police are searching for a man in his 60s, as several checkpoints have been set up in the city.

De Santis is a referee of the Italian third division, and over the course of his career he has managed 130 matches and made his first appearance in the second division as a fourth referee in the match between Pisa and Benevento in 2017.
