2020 U.S. Open leaderboard: Live coverage, golf scores, Tiger Woods score today in Round 1 at Winged Foot

The first of six major championships in the 2020-21 golf season, the 2020 U.S. Open begins on Thursday at historic Winged Foot Golf Club with nearly as many storylines as players teeing it up. The course will take center stage, as it often does at a U.S. Open, and this one is worthy of all the praise as players have been talking all week about how pure (but difficult) it’s going to play. Only one golfer has ever finished a Winged Foot week under par, and I don’t expect 2020 to provide the second. What it will provide is a top of the field that is as good and as deep as it’s ever been.

Dustin Johnson leads the way as the 17/2 favorite (per William Hill Sportsbook) as he tries to claim his second major and his third victory in his last four starts. The only golfer to beat him over that period, Jon Rahm, is next at 10-1. Elsewhere, Justin Thomas will try to add to his collection of wins, Collin Morikawa will try to take a second straight major, Rory McIlroy will try to become the 20th golfer with five or more, Tiger Woods will try to become just the second to 16, and Phil Mickelson will again try to complete the career slam. It should be a rowdy Round 1 on the grounds of Winged Foot as the best in the game (and some of the best of all time) try to conquer one of the great golf courses on the planet.

CBS Sports will be with you the entire way updating this story with the latest scores, updates and highlights below. Check out the live scores at the top of this story, a more detailed leaderboard, Round 1 tee times and our complete viewer’s guide.
