The Egyptian singing market is tweeting away from the Saudi company

For many years, Cairo did not like the entry of the Gulf producer, represented by “Rotana” or other Gulf companies, to its musical musical production in particular. Although some sectors of the Saudi company attempted to cross into drama and cinema in Egypt, the success was not satisfactory to the Egyptian artistic taste. The crisis of the artist Amr Diab, with the company “Rotana”, which started four years ago and ended with a “cool” reconciliation, by order of the head of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, Al Sheikh, between the two parties, constituted another spillover between the Gulf production companies and the Egyptian artistic atmosphere.

The peace did not produce any results, and the trust between Diab and Salem Al-Hindi, General Manager of Rotana, was not restored. This matter raised more questions about the failure of Amr Diab to return to the house of obedience “Rotani”, so that Diab is the only artist who preferred the Arab platforms to the temptations of “Rotana”, after twinning the Saudi company with the French company “Dizier”, unlike some Lebanese singers who signed the Direct contracts in 2018 with the Saudi company, which increased their dependence on them. The capital, Beirut, was the place where these contracts were concluded, which came as a temptation to attract artists to return to them.
The “routine” temptation, it seems, could not persuade the Egyptian singers to work with it. Sherine, for example, who was in a good relationship with the Saudi company, entered into fierce debate with the director of the company, Salem Al-Hindi in 2016, when Sherine, in a press statement, described the associates of the Saudi company as “sheep”, and the Indian demanded that she apologize. Although she did not apologize for that period, the road was paved between the two parties, and Sherine returned to party-only cooperation. Sherine did not get the attention of the distribution company that collaborated with her in her last album “Nesai” 2018, and the platform “Google Premium” owned the exclusive rights to the album electronically. Despite the tempting offer by Rotana to Sherine that it is necessary to return to cooperation in lyrical production, the owner of “Kadabin” did not agree.

Angham is the only Egyptian artist to deliver “Rotana” as much as she wants. Within years, there was no hostility or conflict between the company and its owner, “Make a pledge.” On the other hand, the company does not interfere with the production of melodies, but rather gets a waiver for distribution and sales rights. As well as for its Gulf parties that “Rotana” and, more recently, the Entertainment Authority, are adopting.
Early this year, information was leaked saying that the singer Mohamed Hamaki will join the Saudi company, but he was studying the offer well, especially since Hamaki, according to the same information, is afraid that the “auctioneer” that his colleague, Tamer Hosni, will have in the company will come at his expense. However, the spread of Corona virus, to this day, prevented the release of the album on Hamaki, and the fate of the offer was not known, or whether he actually joined the Saudi company or not.
A few days ago, “The Plateau”, Amr Diab, preferred the platform “Anghami”, and gave it a new lyric, “O our country, my sweet”, from the words of Tamer Hussein, composed by Aziz Al-Shafi’i, and distributed by Tariq Madkour. Diab’s move is another blow in the face of the Saudi company and “Desert” together, a movement that will feed the split or lack of confidence between the Egyptian singer and the company whose Egyptian market appears to be weak, especially as it is at odds with “Anghami”.
